Course organisers

Dr Will Adair a Consultant interventional Radiologist in Leicester and former Leicester trainee. He has been involved with the course almost from the beginning, either examining or with the organisation behind the scenes. Contrary to the picture he doesn't drink much in his spare time, but he cycles, enjoys watersports, and tinkers with the odd Mac when not running about after energetic kids.

Nicola is a Consultant Radiologist with a special interest in Breast and Gynaecology imaging. She trained in Bristol where she worked for her first year after graduating. She then completed her surgical training in Oxford and London, before moving to picturesque Leicester to be an Anatomy Demonstrator. It was during her attachment to a Breast Surgery firm that radiology first interested her, and she commenced on the Leicester training scheme in 2005. She is an experienced examiner, having examined on the Leicester course almost since its inception, and was delighted to be given the opportunity run the course. She has no spare time, as work, three children and a husband keep her pretty busy! Occasionally she manages to squeeze in some cooking, horse riding and yoga.

Dr James Stephenson is a Consultant GI Radiologist in Leicester. He studied medicine at the University of Leicester where he then became an anatomy demonstrator and is now a Lecturer in Medical Education and Anatomy. Part of his role is teaching anatomy to the new demonstrators each year to make sure they are up to speed before teaching the medical students. Prior to radiology he was a surgical trainee but saw the dark after doing an MD utilizing MRI. He organizes the physics course, but doesn’t profess to be a physics genius so has compiled a first class faculty to teach under his watchful eye using focused teaching methods. Out of work when he is not busy riding his bike he is getting to grips with being a dad!

Dr Mandip Heir is a Consultant Radiologist with specialty interest in Paediatrics and Emergency radiology. She has been involved in teaching and education throughout her postgraduate career, as an anatomy demonstrator at the University of Leicester, clinical teaching fellow at Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham, as well as completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education. Outside of work she loves spending time with her family as well as attempting to cook different cuisines.

Dr Praveen Rao is a Consultant Cardiothoracic Radiologist at Leicester. He completed his radiology training in Cardiff, followed by a fellowship in thoracic imaging at St Georges Hospital in London. After completing a second fellowship in multi modality cardiac and thoracic imaging at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Trust, he started as a Consultant radiologist in Leicester.
